RULES - The democratically-elected
Tibetan government-in-exile (TGIE) has strongly rebuked the
Chinese Communist Party’s attempt to seize control of
Tibetan Buddhist reincarnations through regulations which
went into effect September 1st. In a press statement issued
jointly with the heads of all the schools of Tibetan Buddhism,
the TGIE calls the Chinese government’s new regulations “ludicrous
and unwarranted.”

OF THOUSANDS ATTEND FOUR-DAY 'DRAGONCON' EVENT - DragonCon is named for its beginnings in
the Dragon Alliance of Gamers and Role-Players, a local science
fiction and gaming group. The first convention was in 1987
and had about 1,400 attendees... In only eight years, convention
attendance topped 10,000. By 1999, more than 20,000 were descending
on the city. In 2005 and 2006, convention attendance reached
30,000.

Church has declared Sunday "Save Creation Day" as
Pope Benedict joined about 300,000 young Roman Catholics

TO SEND MANNED MISSION TO THE MOON BY 2025 -
Russia plans to send cosmonauts to the Moon by 2025 and
establish a permanent manned base there in 2027-2032.
